Welcome to the home of Ironside Carved & Custom Guitars

Hello and welcome to Ironside Guitars!

My name is Robert Ironside and I have carved all of the guitars that you will see on this site. Just click on the "Gallery" tab at the top of the page and let these pages quickly load and have a look see. Carved Guitars, guitar carving, functional art, it is all apt to be used as discriptions when you see the work. It takes me 2 months or so to make one. I don't keep track of time well but that is as close as I can get to a guess. I'm getting sort of obsessed with details these days but obsession is like that :-)

Remember to check in with either me or my friend and Webmaster Dan Buckley if you have any questions. I'm more than happy to answer any questions regarding the guitars.

I am a Guitar-Ver. I'm not the first but among a very few of us over the past 20 years.

As far as I know the first guy to carve modern hardbody guitars is Doug Rowell. Check out his work too: www.carverdoug.com

I recommend Doug as well. He's a good lad. I found his work on the net after I had done a couple of guitars but I acknowledge him for his pioneering work and great contributions for and to us all.

My old and dear friend Dave Carl has been building great guitars for a long time now and the SG & MedusaCaster featured here were built by Dave and carved by myself. Guitars made by us both will be distinguished by an IC logo for "Ironside & Carl". We'll try and get his strictly custom axes up here for you to see soon also.

Look for more on Dave on the "Options" page.
